𝐏𝐀𝐅𝐈𝐎𝐎 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐞 𝐙𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐢𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬

Ms. Zita T. Cabais, a 2024 Banaag Awardee of the Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas (PAFIOO), was among those recognized at the 2025 Break All Chains Awards held on July 30 at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila.

Zita, who has spent decades in France advocating for Filipino domestic workers, received the Victim Survivor Champion Award for her staunch resistance against labor exploitation and human trafficking. Though she could not attend the ceremony, her nieces accepted the award in her stead.

A former domestic worker herself, she has become a key figure in migrant rights advocacy in Europe. She uses her own experience to organize, empower, and protect others in similar circumstances.

The PAFIOO community proudly celebrates this latest recognition of Ms. Cabais’ tireless work, proof that the impact of overseas Filipinos reaches far beyond borders.
