Dr. Jane Y. Gerardo-Abaya, recipient of the 2024 Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas (PAFIOO) under the 𝘗𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘰 category, is widely recognized for her groundbreaking work in geology, geothermal hydrology, and the safe, peaceful use of nuclear technologies. Now, her impact goes far beyond science and technology.
On 15 November 2025, the Philippine Austrian Cultural and Educational Society – PACES hosted a benefit concert, “𝘈 𝘚𝘺𝘮𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘯𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘰𝘱𝘦”, in Vienna, Austria. The event brought together young Filipino-Austrian musicians and supporters from Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and the Philippines to raise funds for PACES’ scholarship programs for STEM and TVET students in the Philippines.
As the President of PACES, Dr. Abaya continues to empower the next generation, blending education, culture, and community to open doors and create lasting change. With eleven scholars in the Philippines already supported to graduation, PACES is breaking the cycle of poverty through education, mentorship, and community support.
