The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) Secretary Dante “Klink” Ang II met with Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation President, Emilio C. Yap III, to discuss possible partnerships for the Commission’s upcoming projects and initiatives.
Sec. Klink provided an overview of the Commission‘s general work, handing over an information kit detailing the CFO’s flagship programs. He highlighted the upcoming Presidential Awards for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas (PAFIOO), being the government’s recognition of overseas Filipinos and other individuals or organizations who contribute significantly to national development.
Mr. Yap III acknowledged the importance of the Commission’s initiatives, agreeing on the need to perceive more stories of excellence among Filipinos overseas to inspire the greater public.
Both parties expressed a mutual desire to explore further collaboration. The meeting concluded with an agreement to schedule follow-up discussions to finalize partnerships that will widen the reach and recognition of CFO and its PAFIOO awardees with Manila Bulletin.
Also present in the meeting were Mr. Michael Apattad, Ms. Angeli Louise Cando, and Mr. Job Lorenzo Letrero of the CFO Policy, Planning, and Research Division.
